There are numerous mintage in the plant genus Cynoglossum. It is coarse-appearing, microscopic-flowered plants of the personal Boraginaceae. Cynoglossum officinale, a most common fox's-tongue, occurs as indigene of Asia, Africa, and Europe. It has been introduced into North America, and these are considered to exist as the troublesome weed because its burs stick to the wool of sheep and to other brute.
Cynoglossum virginianum, referred to as Untamed comfrey, occurs as most common plant from either New York to Florida. Cynoglossum boreale occurs in the northern United States as far west as Minnesota and in Canada.
Cynoglossum amabile, called Chinese Forget-us-myosotis scorpiodes & Chinese Fox's Tongue, originally the wild flower from either Southwest China, is now encountered inside Europe and North America.
